Order Commelinales
Most plants in Order Commelinales are pollinated by insects, which visit
the coloured flowers to collect pollen rather than nectar. There are four
families in the Order, including the Spiderwort Family (Commelinaceae) and
the Yellow-eyed grass family (Xyridaceae) The flowers shown in this
picture belong to a Yellow-eyed Grass.
