HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Spanish Moss

Spanish Moss on trees and close-up Spanish Moss Tillandsia usneoides is not a moss but a flowering plant. When you see its long gray strands dangling from the branches of trees it is hard to imagine that Spanish Moss is a close relative of the pineapple. It grows in tropical regions of America and attaches itself to trees, especially the Live Oak. Its yellow flowers are tiny and easy to overlook. The stems are used as a packing material and another name for this plant is "vegetable horsehair". [CH] {FW}
