Dumb Cane
Dumb Cane Dieffenbachia is popular as a house plant
as it tolerates low light conditions. There are about
30 species of Dieffenbachia which are cultivated for
their foliage. Like Jack-in-the-pulpit and many other
members of the Arum family Dieffenbachia plants
contain oxalates which can cause poisoning. If eaten,
the leaves can produce swelling of the mouth and throat
which may lead to serious problems.
