False Heather Hudsonia tomentosa looks a bit like Heather because of its scale-like leaves pressed close to the stems. It is a small plant branching like a little shrub and it is covered with fine hairs. Single flowers develop at the tips of short branches and they have five yellow petals which do not last long. The plant grows on beaches and sand dunes. [CH] {GW}
