Family Cucurbitaceae
The Gourd Family (Cucurbitaceae) has about 750 species and
includes cucumbers squashes and melons. They are creeping or
climbing vines with simple leaves that are often lobed.
The flowers are white yellow or greenish and usually
have three stamens. The fruit is called a pepo and many
species and varieties are eaten as fruits or vegetables.
