COMMON ST. JOHN'S-WORT Common St.John's-wort Hypericum perforatum is a widespread plant of waste places, introduced into North America from Europe. It has a branched stem with paired leaves which have transparent dots easily seen if the leaf is held up to the light. The flower has five yellow petals with tiny black dots on their margins and many stamens. [CH] {GW}
