Common Snapdragon
Common Snapdragon Antirrhinum majus gives its
name to this family as it has a fairly typical flower,
which is much like the flower of the Mint Family
(Labiatae). However, plants in the Mint Family can be
distinguished by their square stems. When a bee lands
on the lower petals the flower opens like the mouth
of a rabbit and the bee gets dusted with pollen from
the stamens inside. It then carries this pollen to
the next flower it visits.
