Crater Lake Blue

Crater Lake Blue (Veronica) is a member of a large genus of about 150 species known as speedwells. The flowers are clustered in spikes and come in a variety of colours including a beautiful deep speedwell blue. Two of the petals are fused in this genus so many of the flowers appear to have just four petals instead of the five typical of the Snapdragon Family. The part of the flower at the base of the petals where they join to form a corolla tube is quite short. [CH] {MV}
