Silver Maple
Silver Maple Acer saccharinum likes moist lowlands in regions of
deciduous forests. The leaf is more deeply notched than leaves of other
native Canadian maples and they have five coarsely-toothed lobes. Male
flowers with stamens and female flowers with pistils are usually in
separate clusters and they have no petals. As in other maples, the fruit is
a pair of winged seeds joined on a single stalk.
