Order Sapindales
Most plants in Order Sapindales have woody stems and leaves that are lobed
like the Maple leaf, or divided into leaflets (compound leaves). There are
15 families which include important timber trees and fruit trees. Citrus
fruits, like oranges and lemons, belong in Family Rutaceae and the tree
that produces Cashew nuts is in Family Anacardiaceae. Frankincense comes
from a plant in Family Burseraceae and the valuable timber tree Mahogany is
in Family Meliaceae. Maple trees in Family Aceraceae also belong in Order
Sapindales.
