Creeping stems of Partridge-berry Partridge-berry Mitchella repens like most members of the Bedstraw Family has flowers with four petals. In this species, the flowers grow in pairs at the tips of trailing stems and are pink or white. Partridge-berry is a small plant, with creeping stems and paired, shiny, round leaves, that grows in the shade of woodlands. The fruit is a red berry which is rather tasteless but is probably enjoyed by partridges. [CH] {GW}
