American Strawberry

American Strawberry Fragaria vesca var. americana is a small hairy plant that has leaves divided into three leaflets with toothed margins. The flowers have five rounded white petals and the fruits are an elongated oval shape. This species is similar to the Common Strawberry Fragaria virginiana which has more rounded leaflets and rounder berries with the seeds sunk further into the surface. [CH] {GW}
