Order Rhamnales
Order Rhamnales has three families with about 1,700 species. Most of these
are in the Buckthorn Family (Rhamnaceae) and the Grape Family (Vitaceae).
Plants in this Order probably evolved from Order Rosales. The berries of
some Buckthorns provide medicines and dyes and the fruit of the Grape is the
basis of most wines.
