BUNCHES OF GRAPES The Grape Vitis is a woody climbing vine that has been cultivated for thousands of years for its fruits. The vine climbs by wrapping long thin extensions called tendrils around a support. The greenish flowers are borne in clusters and the juicy fruits form the familiar bunches of grapes. Different hybrids and varieties have been developed for use as dessert fruits and preserves, to be dried to form raisins, or to make wines. [CH] {FW}
