Wild Columbine
Wild Columbine Aquilegia canadensis is easily recognised by its
flower. It is red and yellow and in the shape of a drooping bell with the five
petals extended backwards into hollow spurs. The stamens hang down like the
clapper of the bell. The leaves are divided into three parts. Wild
Columbine grows on rocky ledges and in dry woods in North America.
