Order Ranunculales
Plants in Order Ranunculales are very successful, spreading abundantly in
temperate areas of the world. Some are attractive garden plants, many are
familiar weeds and some are used in folk medicines. Most of them are herbs
though the Order includes a few shrubs and small trees. There are more
than 3,000 species in this Order, grouped in 8 Families, including the
familiar Buttercup Family (Ranunculaceae).
