Common Buttercup
Common Buttercup Ranunculus acris comes from Europe and grows as a
weed in North America. It is the most commonly seen buttercup growing in
meadows and along roadsides. Its leaves are deeply divided and long upright
stems end in flowers which have yellow shiny overlapping petals surrounding
a cluster of many stamens and pistils.
