Family Primulaceae
Most flowers in the Primrose Family (Primulaceae) have
five petals and five stamens which are attached at the
centre of a petal base rather than being arranged
alternately with the petals as they are in most flowers
with five petals. Leaves of primroses are of a simple
undivided shape. Because most of their flowers are fairly
large and attractive, primroses are often grown as ornamental
plants.
