Order Primulales
Order Primulales has three Families with about 1900 species. One family
(Myrsinaceae) includes some of the species of Mangrove that grow in shallow
salty water. Many attractive garden flowers are members of the Primrose
Family (Primulaceae). In this Order, the flowers have a distinctive
structure with stamens attached opposite the middle of each petal instead
of being lined up with the spaces between the petals as they are in most
flowers that have 5 petals.
