Opium Poppy
Opium Poppy Papaver somniferum is an Eurasian plant from which the
drug opium is obtained. The pain-killers morphine and codeine are prepared
from opium. A milky juice is extracted by slashing unripe fruits of the
plant and legal and illegal narcotics are prepared from the sticky mass.
