HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Venus's-flytrap 2

Venus's-flytrap plant Nectar glands on the leaf's surface attract the prey and each lobe of the leaf has three pressure-sensitive hairs which react to the movements of an insect and cause a chemical to be released that triggers the trap. This happens very fast and the leaf closes in less than a second. Digestive enzymes are then secreted from glands on the surface. Any one leaf is good for three or four trappings before it dies.
