Virginia Meadow-beauty
Virginia Meadow-beauty Rhexia virginica grows in moist sandy meadows
of eastern North America. Four thin ridges run down the stem which is
somewhat hairy. The plant has simple paired leaves and pink flowers with
four lopsided petals and eight stamens which have long thin curving pollen
sacs or anthers. Most species in the Meadow-beauty Family are tropical.
