Order Linales
There are five families in Order Linales, including the Flax Family
(Linaceae) and the Coca Family (Erythroxylaceae). Coca is a Peruvian shrub
that yields the narcotic cocaine. Flowers in Order Linales are mostly
regular (radially symmetrical) and the stamens are often joined by their
stalks. Flax Linum usitatissimum is grown commercially for fibres to
make linen and linseed which yields oil.
