English Walnut

English Walnut Juglans regia is prized for its sweet thin-shelled nuts. The green husk which encloses the nut is rich in tannic acid. This tree has a smooth silver-grey bark and shiny green leaves divided into five to thirteen leaflets. It is grown for its nuts, its wood and as an ornamental tree. [CH] {FW}
