Indian Balsam
Indian Balsam Impatiens glandulifera can be up to
2 metres tall with reddish stems and simple toothed
leaves in pairs or whorls of three. It is a Himalayan
native that has become naturalised in many areas and it
may be found along stream banks and in waste places. It
has clusters of fairly large flowers that are usually
purplish or pink though white ones may be found and the
blossoms are often humming with bees.
