TAMARIND LEAVES Tamarind Tamarindus indica is an African species also found in southern Asia. It is a large evergreen tree which produces a hard wood used in furniture-making. The leaves are divided into many pairs of leaflets and the flowers are borne in yellow clusters. The fruits are long curved pods which contain the seeds.
