RHODODENDRONS IN FLOWER The Heath Family (Ericaceae) is mainly made up of woody shrubs that can be small like the heathers or large like rhododendrons. They have simple undivided leaves which are usually arranged alternately on the stem. In most species the stamens release pollen through a small opening or pore at the tip of the pollen sac instead of splitting open. [CH] {WP}
