Peony
Peonies (Paeonia) are perennial plants which grow up
from a thick underground stem each year. They have
divided leaves and large showy flowers which make them
popular as garden plants. The flowers may be blood-red,
pink or white and they have many stamens. Some authorities
include peony in the family Ranunculaceae.
