Highclere Holly with berries There are twelve families of woody trees and shrubs in Order Celastrales. Most plants in this group have simple (undivided) leaves and regular flowers with petals joined together. This Order has about 2,000 species including Holly trees in Family Celastraceae. One South American species of Holly Ilex paraguariensis is the source of mate, which is a drink known as Paraguay Tea. [CH] {EN}
