CATCHFLY Catchfly Lychnis arkwrightii is a cultivated variety of the wild plants with the same name. "Catchfly" refers to a sticky substance that is exuded from the stems because small crawling insects get stuck to it. This is thought to be a method of preserving the plant's pollen for flying insects like bees which will carry it to other flowers and bring about cross-pollination. [CH] {FW}
