Carnation flowers Carnation Dianthus caryophyllus is one of the best-known members of the Pink family as it is so popular as a cut flower. It comes from southern Europe and is widely cultivated for the florist's trade. The single blooms have ruffled petals and varieties of many colours have been developed.
