Brussels Sprouts
Brussels Sprouts Brassica oleracea gemmifera are buds of a
cabbage-like plant. They sprout in the axils of the leaves which grow on a
stout stem. The plant is large and coarse and as the lower leaves die and
fall off the stem remains covered with a compact mass of swollen buds which
are the Brussels sprouts.
