BLACK MUSTARD Black Mustard Brassica nigra is commonly found growing in fields and waste places. It is a rough bristly plant with lobed lower leaves and simple toothed upper leaves. The flowers have four yellow petals and the fruits are upright pods that hug the stem. The dark brown seeds are crushed and powdered to make mustard which is used to add spice to meats. [CH] {GW}
