African Marigold

African Marigold Tagetes erecta is not from Africa but is a Mexican native like many other members of the Daisy Family that are cultivated as garden ornamentals. It is an annual plant that grows to a metre in height and it has large ball-shaped flowering heads that may be yellow or orange. There are single and double flowered varieties. A more suitable name for this plant is Aztec Marigold. [CH] {FW}
