Daisy Flowers
The "flower" of a daisy is really lots of tiny flowers all
massed together in an eye-catching head. This attracts
pollinating insects even though each individual flower is
much reduced in size and complexity. In the typical daisy
head the centre is made up of very small flowers with
stamens and pistils and each "ray" of the head which looks
like a petal is a separate flower with all its petals fused
into a coloured strap.
