New England Aster
New England Aster Aster novae-angliae is a wild
Michaelmas daisy that usually has purple flowering
heads though they are sometimes a brighter rose
colour. The plant has hairy stems covered with a lot of
simple leaves with no leaf stalks (sessile). It grows in
mostly open places and is quite often cultivated in
gardens for its late-blooming flowers.
