Chrysanthemum
Chrysanthemum means "golden flower". Chrysanthemums have been
cultivated in China for more than two thousand years and in many other
parts of Asia and Europe for almost as long. Some species have been used in
flavourings and medicines and a useful insecticide can be extracted from
Pyrethrum Chrysanthemum coccineum. Many of the cultivated varieties
have mostly ray-florets with the disk-florets insignificant or even absent.
