Fern Sex
The sex organs of a fern are produced on a tiny
heart-shaped "prothallus" in the soil and male sperm
swim to the female sex organs in the soil's moisture.
Baby fern plants then develop from the fertilised eggs
and grow roots stems and the beautiful frond-like leaves
that we know as ferns.
