Spinulose Woodfern
Spinulose Woodfern Dryopteris spinulosa grows in moist shady
woodlands. It has delicate lacy fronds which grow up in circular clusters and
the fruitdots containing the spores can be found on the underside of the
fertile leaves. Each fruit dot is covered by a kidney-shaped "indusium".
There are many varieties of this fern.
