Royal Fern Osmunda regalis likes wet conditions and can be found growing in shallow water by lakes and along streams. It can be up to two metres tall and it has divided leaves that are not really typically fern-like but remind one of the locust tree's leaves. The fertile leaflets at the tips of the stems look like feathery brown flowers. [CH] {FG}
