The Rock Brakes Cryptogramma are a small group of 7 species. The native North American rock brake called Slender Cliffbrake is a tiny delicate fern which is quite rare. It likes limestone areas and may be found growing on some shady dripping rock ledge. The fertile leaves are narrower and more upright than the sterile leaves and look a bit like those of the true cliffbrakes in the genus Pellaea. [CH] {FG}
