Ostrich Fern
The graceful fronds of Ostrich Fern Matteuccia struthiopteris can be
seen growing in low wet open places often in the full sun. It is a large
fern which grows as vase-like clumps of leaves which are shaped like
ostrich feathers. The very different-looking fertile leaves grow up in the
middle of a clump. They are tall and stiff turning brown as they age.
