MAIDENHAIR FERN There are over 200 species of Maidenhair Ferns Adiantum found throughout the world. The dark coloured shiny leaf-stalks are distinctive as are the delicate spreading leaves with fan-shaped leaflets and forked veins. It is quite easy to recognise a maidenhair fern. The fruitdots are found under the fertile leaflets near their margins and the edges of the frond curl over to cover them. [CH] {FG}
