There are only two genera in this family. Phylloglossum is found only in the Australian region but more than 100 species of the other genus Lycopodium can be found world-wide growing on trees in the tropics or on the ground in more temperate regions. The custom of making Christmas wreaths from clubmosses almost drove them into extinction in some areas. [CH] {FG}
