Order Isoetales
This small order has only one family (Isoetaceae) which in turn has only
one genus Isoetes. Common names for the 70 or so species are
Quillwort or Merlin's Grass. Quillworts are widespread throughout the world
and they grow in fresh or slightly salty water. They are fairly closely
related to Ferns and together with Horsetails and Lycopods they are
referred to as fern allies.
