HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Family Isoetaceae

Clumps of Quillwort Isoetes plants look like small clumps of chives with long pointed leaves growing up and roots growing down from a rounded bulb-like base. Like ferns, clubmosses and horsetails, quillworts show an alternation of sexual and asexual generations and the plant you see growing is the sporophyte or asexual phase. [CH] {FG}
