Inside Plants
Plants are made up of cells
with stiff walls. Each cell
has a nucleus housing its DNA
and chloroplast factories which
use light energy to make sugars.
Mitochondria are the power
houses storing energy in the
molecule ATP (adenosine
triphosphate). Ribosomes dot
the Endoplasmic Reticulum,
a wavy membrane with large
surface area which ensures that
substances moving in and out of
the nucleus meet ribosomes on
the way.
