Most of the common Mosses that we see growing on trees, soil or rocks belong to the large group of Eubrya. Preferring to grow in areas where there are trees, mosses can be found all over the world. Even though most of them grow on land, they still need moist conditions and clearly they have evolved from the aquatic algae. [CH] {ML}
