HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Kingdom Monera

Bacterial Cells Prokaryotes are relatively simple life forms which do not have specialised structures (organelles) in their cells. The genetic material is a ring of DNA that is not enclosed in a nuclear membrane and there may also be other little rings of DNA (plasmids) that float around in the cytoplasm. Bacteria and Blue-green Algae (Cyanophytes) are prokaryotes and together they constitute the Kingdom Monera. All other life forms have their DNA enclosed in a cell nucleus and they are called Eukaryotes. [CH] {EN}
