Veiled Polypore

The Veiled Polypore Cryptoporus volvatus has its pores covered with a thick membrane which breaks open near the base to release the spores. Because of its spherical shape and veil it looks a bit like a puffball. It grows on coniferous trees. [CH] {AU}
